There are two main types of electric wheelchairs for climbing stairs: continuous and intermittent. The continuous stair-climbing electric wheelchair is widely used because its main feature is that there is only one set of support devices during the stair climbing process, and the function of the wheelchair going up and down the stairs is realized by the continuous movement of this set of support devices. According to its motion actuator, it can be divided into two types: star wheel mechanism and crawler wheel mechanism. The main feature of the intermittent stair climbing electric wheelchair is that it has two sets of support devices, and the two sets of support devices are alternately supported to realize the function of going up and down stairs.
